It’s hard to believe Memorial Day weekend is next weekend. Maybe the summer season has crept up on you. If you want to do a race next weekend and haven’t signed up yet, here are some local options in various areas of Delmarva.
Run to Remember – Memorial Day 5K: Support the Wicomico War Veterans Memorial at the Run to Remember – Memorial Day 5K, set for Saturday, May 23, at 8 a.m. According to the race website, the race begins by the Wicomico War Veterans’ Memorial in front of the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland, at 8 a.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m.
Registration for $25 is available online here or at the Civic Center’s Box Office through noon Friday, May 22, according to the website. Race-day registration is $30 for people who are not members of the military and $20 for members of the military with ID, the website states.

Highway One Pictures 5K: This race is on Memorial Day — Monday, May 25, in Dewey Beach, Delaware. And you don’t have to be fast to win an award — show your patriotism for the chance to win one, according to the Races2Run race website.
Head to the Rusty Rudder for the race start at 8 a.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m., according to the website. Online registration is also available at that site.

Justin’s Beach House 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk: Help the Justin Jennings Foundation and Justin’s Beach House at the Justin’s Beach House 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk.
Head to downtown Bethany Beach, Delaware, for the race; both the 5K and 2-miler begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23, according to the registration page. Each race is $35 plus a $3 fee, that page states. There’s also a free dash for kids, according to the event website.
Registrants can pick up their packets from 2-7 p.m. Friday, May 22, at the downtown Bethany Beach Grotto Pizza location or from 6:30-7:15 a.m. at Garfield Parkway and the Boardwalk, according to the registration page.

Masser 5 Miler: Looking for a distance beyond a 5K? The Masser 5 Miler is set for 7:30 a.m. Sunday, May 24.
The event kicks off from Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, according to the Seashore Striders event website.
Online registration is available through Friday, May 22, and is $20 here, or it’s $25 for registration the day of the event, from 6 a.m.-7:15 a.m., according to the event website.

Gotta Have Faye-th 5K Run & Walk: Benefit the recovery of a woman injured in a car crash at this event, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 23.
Head to the Wild Quail Country Club in Wyoming, Delaware, for the start of the race to benefit Faye Adcox, the event website states.
It’s $20 to take part if you register today — Saturday, May 16 — plus a $2.50 fee, according to the event website. After today, the cost will be $25. Children ages 10 and younger can also take part in a free run at 8:50 a.m., the website states.
