Once again, I get to promote a race for my job! The Turkey Trek 5K is coming up this Thursday — Thanksgiving.
The race, at Pemberton Historical Park (5561 Plantation Lane, Salisbury) is hosted by Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism, and I am the assistant director of marketing and public relations for the department.
I have volunteered at the Turkey Trek for at least the past two years and will be volunteering again with the Eastern Shore Running Club this year. I’d love to see you cross the finish line.
Today, Monday, Nov. 21, is the last day to register at the discounted rate of $25, but race-day registration is also available for $30.
The race begins at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. If you want to register that day, do so between 7:30 and 8 a.m., and if you’ve already registered, you can check in between 8 and 8:30 a.m.
There will be overall and age group awards, and you could even win a trophy for having the best Thanksgiving costume.
Oh, and there’s pie. YUM!
