I feel lucky to have received two free entries to one of my favorite races — the Rehoboth Beach Seashore Marathon/Half Marathon. Maybe you’ll be the next lucky one — I am giving one of them away in a random drawing, as I don’t need two for myself!
Last year, I received the free entry for 2017, along with a 2016 hoodie (and the 2017 hoodie-to-come!) for creating selfie signs, one of which is shown in the photo that’s in this post. Then, after signing up for the marathon with my free entry, I accepted a spot on the pace team for the half marathon with Beast Pacing, which also came with a free entry. I love pacing, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
I will be pacing the 2:30 group for the half marathon, and I am so excited to help runners meet their goals! You can visit the Beast Pacing page for this race, where you can see who’s pacing each time and read bios, here.
I will be giving away a code that will allow the winner to enter either the marathon or the half marathon for free. If you win, I would recommend entering right away, so that the spaces don’t fill up before you are able to register.
I am appreciative for the opportunity to do this giveaway — thank you to race director Mary Beth Evans!
I want the entry to go to good use, so check out this race info before entering!
Rehoboth Beach Seashore Marathon and Half Marathon
Date: Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017
Time: 7 a.m.
Location: Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (race starts by the Bandstand)
Time Limit: 7 hours
Note: This entry is for the 2017 race only. You cannot use this entry in a future year.
Current registration fees are $140 for the half marathon and $160 for the full marathon. Visit the race website for any other details you may need! Here is an FAQ page.
It’s a scenic course and there is a great after-party with delicious food. This race also has a great Facebook group, where you can interact with fellow participants.
Here are my past recaps on this race since starting this blog: 2016, 2015 and 2014. This was my first marathon in 2013, and nearly four years and five more marathons later, that race is still my marathon PR.
Just in case you didn’t realize this, I am not a medical professional and I am not advising anyone to run a marathon or half marathon if you are not prepared to do so and to do the training.
So, are you ready to enter?!

The drawing will be random, but there are chances for multiple entries — good luck! You must be 18 or older and a U.S. resident, and you can’t be an immediate family member of mine or live in my household. Official rules are included in the giveaway.
The giveaway’s official opening time is 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, and it closes at 12:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16. I will notify the winner within 48 hours of the giveaway closing, and then the winner will have 48 hours to get back to me.

WINNER – posted evening of 10/17: Emily Insley. Congrats, Emily!
Message posted to Facebook evening of 10/16: Hi everyone! The Rehoboth Seashore Marathon/Half Marathon giveaway winner will be chosen sometime before 12:00 a.m. Wednesday (I gave myself 48 hours in the official rules). I planned for the random winner to be selected tonight, but I am verifying entries and have sent a question through to WordPress support. Thanks for understanding!
Would love to run this race. It would be my 4th half marathon. I used to go to Rehoboth as a kid and it has become a special place for me as an adult as well. It’s my happy place. And it has Dogfish…beach and beer….what could be better?

I’m doing this race! I used to go to Rehoboth as a kid and haven’t been there in about 15 years or so since I moved down south. I’m excited!

I was just thinking about this race. For some reason I haven’t signed up yet, but I’d love to do the half again. It’ll be my third year running it. It’s been a great race every time I’ve ran it.

I’ve been checking this run out as my 10/21 race is out of the picture due to an injury. Heard many good reviews about this marathon!!

wahoo! I was JUST thinking about this run! Thanks for the chance to enter to win a spot! 🙂 I have wanted to do this race since hearing about it last year – the fact the course is fairly flat are the races I prefer to run! 🙂

So cool that you are giving away this entry. I was actually signed up for the 2015 race but then it turned out to be my daughter’s first ever swim meet so I just couldn’t do it. I looked at signing up this year but couldn’t justify spending the $$. I would love to win an entry and finally run this race I have heard so many wonderful things about.
