Here’s a shot from Trap Pond State Park on the last day of the 39-day run streak, today! (Vanessa Junkin photo)

Today, New Year’s Day, was the last day of the Runner’s World winter run streak from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. I wasn’t planning on participating, but I decided to, kind of on a whim, when some members of Delmarva Moms Run This Town were taking part. I’m glad I did — it kept me motivated to run and it definitely got me out there on days I didn’t really feel like running.

I am training for a marathon, so the streak did include six long runs, ranging from 13.1 miles to 20 miles. I was able to run in a variety of places during this streak. Thankfully, the weather was pretty nice during the streak, and I had lots of cool people to run with.

Here’s a rundown of the streak, by the numbers:

39: Number of days the streak lasted

195.49: Number of miles I ran during the streak

5.01: Average number of miles run per day

20: Longest run mileage in a day

1: Shortest run mileage in a day

Check out a Storify of my tweets from most days of the streak here! I can’t embed the Storify, but visit the link: #VJRunStreak: Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.
