I’ve joined the Brooks Run Happy Team!

I’m pumped about representing Brooks as part of the Run Happy Team!

I’ve been wearing the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for more than 13 years, and I’m excited to formalize my love of Brooks as a member of this year’s Run Happy Team.

I started seeing posts about the Run Happy Team after the application deadline had passed for the 2020 team, so I was on the lookout for information about the 2021 Run Happy Team. I applied and was chosen to become a member of this ambassador program (yay!).

I was fitted for the Brooks Adrenaline GTS back in 2007. This was my first time actually getting fitted for shoes. Before that, I remember we (my mom and I — I’m assuming she bought them) bought at least one of my pairs of shoes at Kohl’s. Primarily, I was going for looks.

But when I joined the cross country team as a senior in high school, I learned that it is actually best to be fitted for shoes at a specialty store so that you know what works best for your feet. I still encourage people to get fitted for shoes so you can find what works for you.

Here I am in my first pair of Brooks. Since this was before smartphones, this photo from is the yearbook.

I looked up what version of the Adrenaline GTS I probably would have had back in 2007. This article says the GTS 7 is the version that was released that year (photos are missing from the article, though I found a photo here). I usually donate my shoes once I am finished with them (otherwise, I would have a TON of shoes that I wouldn’t really wear), but it would have been nice to save that first pair. I probably didn’t realize at that time just how big a part of my life running would become.

My current shoes are the Adrenaline GTS 21. I’ve been with Brooks a long time!

Over the years, I’ve pretty much solely worn this shoe for running. One time, I tried a different style, and I’ve tried a few pairs of shoes that I won or got to test through BibRave. But I’ve never found a running shoe I like as much as this one.

Here I am in a photo from this month.

The Run Happy Team is an enthusiastic group of runners that posts lots of photos in our communication platform, Slack. This past week, I got to listen to a Town Hall with members of the Brooks staff and also took part in a Zoom call with some fellow members of the team to get to know them. We’ll also be getting a welcome kit with some Brooks swag.

So far, I ordered a Team Brooks Dash 1/2 Zip and a Dare Crossback Run Bra. I ordered them Friday, and they came today, so I wore them on today’s run in the snow. They were great for my run, and I’m looking forward to trying out more Brooks apparel. I’m already a fan of their shirts (our running club singlets and short-sleeve shirts are Brooks, for example) and a jacket that I got to test through BibRave.

Stay tuned to my social media as I share fun news from Brooks… and to see my welcome kit once I get it!
