Now that I have a quality pair of casual sunglasses — the XX2i Optics Bahamas1 — I’ve put more of my cheap sunglasses in the donation bag.

I got to test the XX2i France2 sunglasses earlier this year, and although I’ve never considered myself much of a sunglasses person, I loved them, and I was excited for the opportunity to test the XX2i Optics Bahamas1.

The Bahamas1 sunglasses come in four colors, and I chose the matte tortoise with polar brown lenses. The lenses I had in the France2 were a different color, and when I looked through those, I didn’t see a tint when I looked through them. The color of the lenses in my Bahamas1 do provide a different tint, and while I preferred no noticeable tint, it was not difficult to get used to. As I noticed with the France2, it’s easier to look at a phone with the sunglasses off.

The XX2i Optics Twitter bio reads “Clear Vision — Brilliant Style.” I would agree with both of these things. One thing that stands out to me is just how clear they are to see through. Although I was careful with the sunglasses because I knew they were good quality, I did not experience any kind of scratching or problems. There is also a “no questions asked Lifetime Warranty,” according to the website.

The XX2i Bahamas1 sunglasses do come with a padded case, along with a bag and strap for behind the glasses.

I also think they look cool, and they definitely have a more casual look than the France2, which are sporty. I wore the Bahamas1 for a variety of activities, including a Baltimore Orioles baseball game, on a boat, to a food truck festival, while driving, while playing softball and while running — although they are more casual, they also worked for running.

I also noticed that the sunglasses feel very light.

In the past, I had not spent much on sunglasses (and these were free to me as a BibRave Pro), but now that I have been able to test these better-quality sunglasses from XX2i Optics, the difference in a quality pair is quite clear. (Did you get the pun?)

The Bahamas1 are $99.99 — but be sure to read the next sentence! Use the code “xx2irocks” to save 50 percent at XX2i.com.
