A run at Herring Creek Nature Park

I had heard there was a trail at Herring Creek Nature Park in West Ocean City, but I hadn’t ventured out there until Christmas Eve.

Much of the trail is not in the woods, but here’s a view from the woods. (Vanessa Junkin photo)

After doing some last-minute shopping at the outlets in West Ocean City, I turned onto Keyser Point Road from Route 50, as I knew that’s where the trail was, then turned onto Nature Park Drive and arrived at the park.

The trail was very puddly after some rain, so my shoes got wet almost immediately, but I enjoyed getting to enjoy the new trail.

After running all of the trail I saw, it was only about 0.8 miles. I ran a total of just more than five miles, so my run also included running to one end of Keyser Point Road, on a couple other roads and in a nearby neighborhood.

I’m glad I got to explore a new area. Looking forward to the next place to explore!
