There’s a new marathon and half marathon planned for 2015 on Delmarva, and if you sign up today, Dec. 14, or Monday, Dec. 15, you’ll also get a training shirt included with registration.

The Coastal Delaware Running Festival includes a marathon, half marathon and 9K (5.6 miles). All three races are set for May 3, 2015, and the races start and end in Dewey Beach, according to the running festival’s website.
Maps of each course show that the marathon also goes through Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, and the half marathon goes through Rehoboth Beach.
Registrants who sign up for the half or full marathon today or Monday, Dec. 15, will get a training shirt in the mail, according to the event’s Facebook page. (This is through 11:59 p.m. Monday.) A picture of the shirt is available on the home page.
If you aren’t sure yet, this event has during the past months offered different promotional codes to save on registration, so keep an eye on the Coastal Delaware Running Festival Facebook page to see what may come next.
The costs are currently $125 for the marathon, $100 for the half marathon and $40 for the 9K, according to the website. The costs have already increased some, and will increase again beginning Jan. 1.
Benefiting from the event are the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation and Delaware Seashore State Parks, the website states.
The marathon will start at 7 a.m., the half marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. and the 9K will start at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, May 3, according a schedule on the race website. Only emergency race-day packet pickup is offered.
