How I spent my National Running Day

Really, National Running Day could be any day of the year. But it’s the third Wednesday in June, which happens to be today.

My Twitter feed was filled with tweets about #NationalRunningDay today, as I already follow hundreds of runners, and there were chats and promotions going on. And I followed some new runners, too.

I submitted a picture of my watch with the hashtag #ESDMiles4$ for a discount of the amount of miles (for me, $3.22 for 3.22 miles) from Erica Sara Designs — I thought that was a fun promotion.

When I got home from work, I found that I’d received a package, which ended up being the pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 18s I won at the end of last week’s #BibChat. That was fun to receive, of course, but cool that it happened to come on National Running Day.

On Tuesday morning, I’d put out a post on the Eastern Shore Running Club page — I’m the secretary — saying I’d be at Ben’s Red Swings at the Salisbury City Park for a National Running Day group run at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

I did one loop around the park with two other local runners who came for the run, one of whom brought a baby in a stroller. It was a fun way to enjoy the evening, and as it had rained earlier in the day, the weather was perfect — not too hot, and it was no longer raining.

Hope you got in a nice run for National Running Day!
