Although July is always a hot and humid month of running, this July was a good one — given the weather.
- After a lighter-mileage month in June, I logged 101.87 miles in July. While I don’t set a monthly or annual mileage goal, it’s always nice to hit 100. (Spoiler alert — I’ll be back to a lower mileage for August.)
- I ran my fast 1600 in 8:06. Even though I ran my 1600 meters in less than 8:00 for the first time in years in June, I didn’t expect to do this every time I get out there. My July time was close, at 8:06.
- I ran my fastest 5K since 2019. I ran a time of 27:41 at the Firecracker 5K in Rehoboth Beach.
- I did one other in-person race and finished the Tour de Salisbury. My other in-person race was the Great Wyoming Buffalo Stampede 10K, which was a humid struggle for me, but still a nice small-town race. I also ran several Tour de Salisbury segments in July and completed the Tour for a fourth year.
- I did four DribbleUp classes, one barre class and two yoga classes. I’ve been slacking a little bit with yoga, but I have been keeping up my DribbleUp streak (at least one workout a week with my six-pound ball).
- I ran in one more new-to-me place. In addition to the various locations I visited for the Tour, I also got to do a run in Dover when I was up there for something else.
August, so far, has been a lower-mileage month, but a fun one! Stay tuned!
