Disclaimer: I received a pair of the OOFOS OOahh Sport Project Pink Recovery Sandals to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews!

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you may realize that I love OOFOS — and I have many pairs. Since becoming a BibRave Pro, I’ve tested the OOmg low shoes, the OOlala, the OOriginal Project Pink Sandals and the OOmg Fibre Low shoes.

And there’s a reason I’ve continued to add to my OOFOS collection, including a purchase of the orange OOlalas and a pair I purchased before becoming a BibRave Pro. They are my favorite type of shoes to wear when it comes to comfort.

But I had yet to try a pair of the slides. Over the past month, I’ve been testing the OOFOS OOahh Sport Project Pink Recovery Sandals.

The sandals I tested are from OOFOS’ Project Pink Collection, but no worries if there’s another pair you’re eyeing on the OOFOS website — 3 percent of every purchase on OOFOS.com benefits the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Breast Cancer Research Team.

Since I received my shoes for free through BibRave, my boyfriend had mentioned when I was telling him about them that maybe I could make a donation. I just did so, making a donation of $10 to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to specifically benefit breast cancer research. Every bit counts.

Here’s another photo of my new OOFOS — I painted my nails mostly so I could get some photos of the OOFOS without my severely chipped nail polish.

Unfortunately, this is not a cause that OOFOS picked randomly, and the brand’s website states: “The cause chose us.” Duncan Finigan, who worked as brand leader and marketing director at OOFOS, fought breast cancer, and her story is featured on the OOFOS website. Sadly, she died earlier this year.

So, while your feet are feeling comfy in the OOFOS, you can also feel good knowing that you’ve made a contribution to an important cause.

Among the places I wore my sandals were the National Folk Festival, the Pemberton 24 and IRONMAN Maryland, at which I was a volunteer.

The OOFOS feel so nice to wear, and as I’ve mentioned in a previous post, OOFOS are generally my go-to shoes when I’m not working. The most comfy part about the OOFOS has to be the OOfoam™.

You can learn a little bit more about it and the science on the OOFOS website.

“Made with proprietary OOfoam™ technology, OOFOS absorb 37% more impact* than traditional foam footwear materials for the perfect blend of cushion and stability,” according to the website.

Overall, these shoes are great. At first, I did notice some rubbing on the top of one foot, particularly when I tried to walk faster, but I think my foot adjusted the more I wore them. I also scuffed the top edges, but that doesn’t bother me.

I did notice that when my feet got wet, sometimes they slid around a little bit more than they would have with the thong style.

A benefit to the slides, though, is that they can be worn with socks. Usually, I wore them without socks, but at the Pemberton 24, it was cold during the nighttime hours and it helped to get out of my running shoes and slip the OOFOS on over my wool socks.

My OOFOS also got pretty dirty at the Pemberton 24 and that only became worse at IRONMAN Maryland. Thankfully, they are easy to clean. Yesterday, I washed them quickly in the tub, and I didn’t quite get everything, but they’re much more clean now (and I just need to go back and scrub). And according to the OOFOS website, you can also wash them in the washer (but not the dryer).

Don’t worry about getting your OOFOS dirty — you can wash them!

I’ve been marathon training, and these OOFOS have certainly been helpful to have. I put enough stress on my body with all the running I do, so I’m glad to provide some recovery with these shoes.

  1. I am jealous of all the different pairs of Oofos that you have! I am totally eyeing a pair of the closed toe ones to wear to work! And somehow I missed that they can be washed in the washing machine! That makes cleaning easy!

  2. These look so comfy!! I have a pair (I believe the OOlala), and I love them. I’m thinking it’s time for a second pair 😉
